Sweet Potato Chips

These sweet potato chips are a wonderful snack or side dish! They are crisp on the outside and chewy on the inside, and are sweet and salty at the same time! Just slice a sweet potato, throw it in the oven and you’re done.

Ingredients:

  • 1 sweet potato
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • sea salt

Instructions:

  1. Peel the potato and cut it into thin slices.
  2. To coat the slices evenly in oil, I like to put them in a plastic container, sprinkle 1 tbsp olive oil and some salt on them, and then shake the closed container until all the slices are covered in oil. But you could also just layer the slices in a baking pan and sprinkle some oil on them.
  3. Bake potatoes in the oven at around 200°C (400°F) for about 40 minutes (or until slightly browned), turning them once, so they get crisp from both sides.

German recipe:

Zutaten:

  • 1 Süßkartoffel
  • 1 EL Olivenöl
  • Meersalz

Zubereitung:

  1. Kartoffel schälen und in dünne Scheiben schneiden.
  2. Die Scheiben in einer Backform übereinanderlegen und mit etwas Öl und Salz beträufeln. Oder alle Scheiben in eine Tupperbox geben, mit Öl & Salz beträufeln und dann die geschlossene Box schütteln, bis alle Scheiben mit Öl bedeckt sind.
  3. Im Ofen bei 200°C für etwa 40 Minuten, dazwischen einmal wenden, damit sie von beiden Seiten kross werden.
