I recently did a 5 day detox program that I got from Our Clean Journey (it is available in German only for now). Detoxing is supposed to give your liver and kidneys a break and wash out toxins that have built up in the body. There are a lot of different ways to detox, but since I am not a fan of depriving myself of solid food for days, I chose this gentle program. The main idea of the Our Clean Journey detox is to cut out things like flour, animal products, alcohol, coffee, salt, sugar, preservatives and basically all processed food. In those 5 days, you make all your meals from fresh, unprocessed food, so it does take a little bit of time to prepare.
