This is one of the first vegan recipes I tried and I stuck with it ever since! It is extremely easy, but tastes so good. Even my meat eater boyfriend loves it! 🙂
It is also very versatile- you can eat the tofu on its own, or add it to a stir-fry/ jambalaya, tacos, or salad! If you are looking for a way to make tofu more exciting, you have just hit the jackpot!
Ingredients:
- 1 block of plain tofu
- 3 tbsp peanut butter
- 3 tbsp maple syrup
- 2 tbsp lime or orange juice
- 1.5 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp sweet chili sauce (bought)
- 1/2 tsp ground ginger
- 1/4 clove of garlic, minced (optional)
Instructions:
- Cut the tofu into small cubes.
- In a pan, fry the tofu in 1 tbsp oil (sesame or olive) until slightly browned.
- Meanwhile, mix the other ingredients together to make the sauce. It works best if you heat it up in a small pot.
- Throw tofu into sauce and mix well!
